NO forts

No forts, museums, historical sites, parks or signs.  Nope.  Today we started with the Bluffton, SC, library (we'd been here several weeks ago but new books arrive every day, doncha know).

Then we spent the afternoon at the pool, and walking the beach at Marriott’s Barony Beach Club.

One of the benefits of owning a week timeshare here at the barony is the available year round use of the club when you are in the neighborhood at no cost.  While we are 45 minutes from the club at the Cummins South shop in Savannah, its well worth the ride for an afternoon like this; especially when the weather is supposed to get darn chilly the next week or so.

And also especially when we are hoping to be in warmer climes soon IF the techs here can get our turbocharger pumping air at full pressure into the engine again.

So while I have no news, history, or profound cultural or theological points to make in this post, I do have some photos of a relaxing, and pretty warm, day on Hilton Head.

See a few posts back. The resort is only about 2 miles down the beach from the Confederate Fort Walker, taken after heavy Union shelling in the Port Royal Sound battle.   And the later built Union Fort Sherman, constructed to prevent a confederate re-taking of the island. So no pics of them today; just the promise of pics to come possibly the next time we mosey this way.
