We spent a
relaxing morning in the coach soaking up the sun through our front windows. The
temp today would be a bit warmer than yesterday but still a chill 63 or so
tops.
At noon we
headed over to the Gresh’s for lunch, a hula hoop contest, and a grand time with the kids and Pixie,
their pup.
After lunch
they taught us how to play ‘Apples to Apples’, though I was sure I had played
it at Hope Church, in some version, before.
Then they
took us over to the Magic Kingdom
resorts at Disney World to show us how easy it is to enjoy those resorts for
free by monorail.
We parked at
the Polynesian, which is getting a
major overhaul for the new year, and took the monorail from there to the Grand Floridian.
On the way over Jaeden saw this out the window. Chad tells us that the pilot who puts up these sky tributes to Jesus has been doing it for years, every day he can fly.
This is the
premier Disney resort and the one Mona and I stayed at in 1994 when several of
us, with our wives, from SKH joined AWI Food Group for a week sales bonus
trip to Disney World. Its only gotten
more lovely since.
An annual
Christmas feature here is a gift from the restaurant staff members to GF guests, a huge ginger bread house
that looks good enough to eat.
Then back to
the monorail for the short hop to the Contemporary.
This is the first of all the resorts at WDW and still one of the most popular.
The monorail
enters the main concourse through the center of the building.
We took the
elevator down to the main floor to see the foodie feature created by the Contemporary kitchen team and they chose
FROZEN as their chocolate theme. No licking allowed.
Supper time
was near so we all went back to the coach to order a pizza pickup from UNO, which meant Jaeden, Sydney and I
had to walk all of 300 feet to the restaurant 30 minutes after ordering. And this
was GOOD pizza!
Then back to
the Gresh’s for a Christmas tradition we haven’t enjoyed since our grandsons
stayed with us several years ago before Christmas. Cookie baking!
Jill had
prepared the dough in right-size frozen patties and I offered to take on an
entirely new task to me, that of rolling it out. Jill and Mona instructed, and Sydney and I
cut out the thin sugary treasures.
Jaeden and Gabriel enjoyed decorating them and
we all had a couple when they were out of the oven and cooled, just to be sure
they were safe to eat.
Its Monday tomorrow
and that means weekly laundry and light maintenance for our vehicles. We may
stay a bit longer here but its going down to 41 again tonight and that means
burning more propane to stay warm. A couple of hours south and the temps are 10
degrees warmer, on average.
We’ll see
what tomorrow brings. You just never
know what you’ll discover when you can live to see what might be around the
next bend.
